How to Make a Tray from a Picture Frame

How to Make a Tray from a Picture Frame

You can transform an unwanted picture frame into a beautiful serving tray that would make any hostess proud. Dont waste money buying a costly store-bought tray when you can easily make one at home. Making trays requires minimal crafting skills and is so easy, you'll want to make a bunch to give as housewarming, hostess and Christmas gifts.

Instructions

    1

Remove the glass and backing from the frame. Clean both sides with glass cleaner and a paper towel. Set aside.

    2

Place the frame over the corkboard and trace the interior measurements of the frame onto it with a pencil.

    3

Place the corkboard onto the fabric and trace around it with a fabric pen. Cut out the shape from the fabric, and glue the fabric onto the corkboard using hot glue.

    4

Assemble the tray by inserting the glass and then the fabric-covered corkboard into the frame. Reattach the backing and secure in place.

    5

On the front of the frame, use a ruler to measure and mark the centers of the shorter sides of the frame. Align the drawer handles over the center marks and glue them into place.
