Breakfast Brunch Party Ideas

Breakfast Brunch Party Ideas

Brunch is a meal that can bring groups of friends and family together and works for all schedules. Whether guests want breakfast or lunch, a spread is available for all tastes. You can make a casual breakfast brunch party with easy-to-make dishes or a fancy vast spread feast with a decadent "Paris" theme. When it comes to throwing a brunch party, it is important to consider different ideas for the type of food, beverages and decorations you want to use. Does this Spark an idea?

Food

Food is one of the most important aspects of a breakfast brunch party. It is necessary to have the old comfort dishes, whether it is a full meal or finger foods. Some old faithfuls that many guests love include fruit platters, French toast slices with powdered sugar and various types of syrup, small pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, pastries and hash browns or potatoes. The beneficial thing about throwing a brunch party is that you can make easy food such as this because it will always taste great. Get creative with food if you desire and make it a little fancier, such as fruit, yogurt and granola parfaits or a wide selection of European pastries. Consider an omelet station or lox, cream cheese and bagels.

Beverages

It is necessary to have tea and coffee. An espresso machine can be beneficial to those guests who enjoy gourmet coffee. Offer a range of teas, such as Earl Grey, mint and orange spice. For those with a sweet tooth, offer a shake and smoothie bar with a variety of fruits, milk, yogurt, ice cream, syrup and so forth. Offer pitchers of juice chilled on ice, such as orange, cranberry or grapefruit, and always provide iced water. Consider offering a Bloody Mary or mimosa bar, particularly if the party is closer to lunch than breakfast.

Decor

Even if you are throwing just a casual breakfast brunch, it is important to have some sort of cohesive table layout. Set up a table out of the way that will hold as much food and beverages as you are providing. Usually a separate table is provided for the beverages. Add centerpieces of flowers, or use a large bowl of fresh fruit as a focal point. Use a tablecloth in a pleasant neutral or pastel color and on one side of the table provide silverware, napkins and a stack of plates for your guests to load up with food. Position the serving platters and bowls evenly apart so people can serve themselves in a line comfortably. Come up with a favorite color scheme, such as blue and white, or yellow, red and white. Avoid colors that are very dark or dingy, like gray, black or brown.

Theme

A themed brunch party can be very fun, particularly for a holiday or special event like a baby shower, city theme (such as Paris) or girls weekend. Start planning a theme by picking colors. For example, Christmas would be red and green, while a baby shower would be pink, blue, white or other pastel hues. Then, choose food based on the theme. For example, a Paris theme would include a layout of fruit tarts, champagne, quiche, tomato tarts and French bread with cheese. For an Easter brunch, serve eggs prepared in a variety of ways, Easter bunny bread, spring dumplings, and so forth.
