Pool Room Designs

Pool Room Designs

A room with a pool table can be a space where the entire neighborhood gathers to hang out. Your pool room can be in the basement or even in a sunroom. Since pool tables take up space and require a lot of area to play, the pool room can feel like its short on style. Design your pool room so it's functional as well as beautiful. Does this Spark an idea?

Pool Room Design Concerns

There are several practical concerns that you should take into account when designing a pool room. If your pool room is off of your main living space, conceal it by adding opulent silk curtains to the entryway. This way the pool table isn't the first thing your guests see when entering your home. Reduce noise by putting carpet on the floor. Upholstered walls can be high on style while acting as a makeshift way to soundproof the room.

Multi-Function Tables

Go with a table with multiple functions if your home is short on space or if you only play pool occasionally. A wood top can slide over the pool table, creating a dining area or place to play board games or cards. A smaller bumper pool table can convert into a poker table.

Pool Room Decor

A pool table can fit in with most decor styles to create cohesion throughout your home. Classic pool rooms feature green felt tables, stained glass lighting and rustic wall decor. Install a carpet that has a pattern on it for more interest, such as a daring cheetah or zebra print. A delicate leaf-patterned carpet adds a natural or feminine touch to the pool room, depending on your overall theme. Display items that you find packed away in the garage such as trophies or faux antlers. Buy wrought-iron pool table lights that will have more of a chandelier feeling to make the pool room more elegant. A pool table also can be part of a retro room with a chrome bar, juke box and vinyl bar seats.

Pool tables come in different design styles. For a modern pool room, buy a retro wood table with clean lines and a funky felt color such as periwinkle blue. Contemporary tables might include a frosted glass ball return or metal legs that will add style to your pool room. A traditional or elegant pool room might have a table with intricate carvings and a dark-colored felt. For a rustic lodge feeling, invest in a table that looks like it's made from natural logs. Paint your pool room in a daring color such as red, purple or navy blue for a cozy, moody space. Line the walls with over-sized vintage prints, metal signs or movie posters for inexpensive artwork.
