How to Create a Fruit Display

How to Create a Fruit Display

Fruit displays fulfill both practical and decorative functions for parties and gatherings. Fruit can take the place of floral arrangements, centerpieces and desserts, adding beauty and sweet flavor to a buffet or serving table. Use a wide range of fruits to accommodate the varying palates of your guests.

Instructions

    1

Use a variety of levels in your display. Place fruit on a tiered serving tray or arrange groups of fruits on cake stands and in bowls to display fruit at different heights.

    2

Group similar colors together to make a bold statement, such as honeydew, green grapes and kiwi, or alternate colors on a platter to form an attractive pattern. Alternatively, group fruit by type, such as melons, berries and tree fruits.

    3

Arrange fruit to fit the theme of your gathering. For example, place blueberries, strawberries and apple slices in the shape of an American flag for Independence Day, or arrange raspberries in the shape of a heart for Valentine's Day.

    4

Place slices or wedges of melon around the edge of a bowl to form an attractive, edible border. Fill the bowl with whole berries, melon balls or other small pieces of fruit.

    5

Carve individual pieces of fruit into flower shapes, pierce them with skewers and place them in a vase to create a fruit bouquet.
