How to Make Money With a Coin Pool Table

Adding a coin-operated pool table to your business can be a significant benefit. If you have enough space for a table and the required accessories, you should consider the potential profit increase from this type of equipment. Placement of the pool table and how you market its use to your patrons can result in a dramatic flow of new customers, plus income that takes very little effort beyond the initial setup.

Instructions

    1

Purchase a coin operated pool table. Depending on your specific intentions with the table, you may want to purchase a brand new one from a billiards supply company, or search for a used table that is in acceptable condition.

    2

Set the table in a location that will be highly visible to the visitors of your establishment, but not where it will interfere with other activities. Make sure there is plenty of room around the pool table for the players and the pool cues to maneuver; typically 6 feet of space around the pool table will work.

    3

Set the price for the pool table games. Older coin-operated tables accept quarters into a sliding metal device that must be pressed prior to playing a game, and newer tables simply have a slot for inserting coins or dollar bills. Typically, the price per game is between 50 cents and $1.00.

    4

Entice your visitors and customers to use the pool table. You should unlock the table during certain hours of the day to attract players in hopes that they will arrive before the table is unlocked and/or stay after is locked again.

    5

Make arrangements with a local professional or semi-professional pool player to visit your establishment once or twice each month to provide free demonstrations. Pool players will often travel a significant distance for a chance to meet and play with a legitimate professional. Players will likely arrive before the professional, and also stay after he leaves, resulting in a steady stream of money into the pool table.
