How to Decorate a Romantic Dinner Table

How to Decorate a Romantic Dinner Table

Dinner table settings can make or break a romantic dinner. A properly arranged table will create an environment for intimate dining, but the wrong settings can ruin the mood. Keeping the lighting down and the table small encourage you and your significant other to get closer to each other as you dine. Gently flickering candlelight subtly illuminates the dining area, adding to the romantic vibe of the room. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Cover the table with a lace tablecloth for an old-fashioned appearance.

    2

Set the table with china table settings and silverware with the settings facing each other.

    3

Place the fork on the left of the plate and the knife on the right with the blade facing the plate. Set the spoon to the right of the knife.

    4

Fold two cloth napkins in half, and in half again to make a quarter. Halve the napkins with one last fold to make a rectangular napkin. Set one cloth napkin under the fork for each place setting.

    5

Set a bud vase in the center of the table with one long-stem rose inside.

    6

Tie a ribbon into a bow around the remaining long-stem rose and place it on your partner's plate.

    7

Arrange a candlestick with a taper candle in it on either side of the bud vase so each diner sees the bud vase in the middle and the two candlesticks on either side.

    8

Dim the lights and light the candles just before eating.
