How to Decorate a Billiard Room

How to Decorate a Billiard Room

Billiards can be quite noisy and competitive when friends and family gather to play. Typically, the pool table takes up much of the space unless it is a very large room. Decorating this type of room is not difficult if you keep the needs of the spectators and players in mind. Also keep in mind that this room will likely be used as an entertainment area on occasion. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Decorate the room with bold, primary colors. These colors go well with the green of the pool table fabric and the bright colors of the balls.

    2

Hang vintage or art deco-looking metal signs on the walls. Most billiard rooms are used for entertaining friends, watching sports on TV, playing board games and doing other fun activities, so it is wise to use funky decor that gives the area a lively look.

    3

Install an offbeat or whimsical light fixture above the pool table to provide ample lighting for the game. The table is usually centrally located so the players have plenty of room to move around the table.

    4

Purchase flooring that requires little maintenance, such as vinyl, wood or low-pile carpeting, such as berber or indoor/outdoor carpeting. It is common to enjoy snacks in a billiard room, either before, during or after the game, and this type of flooring makes the cleanup quicker.

    5

Hang sports memorabilia on the walls, or place sports-themed knickknacks around the room, particularly if your family and friends watch their favorite team while in this room. .

    6

Provide comfortable seating for the spectators or the players after enjoying the game. Bean bag or director's chairs, futons and papasan chairs all offer a relaxed atmosphere and are relatively inexpensive. Floor pillows are another option for this room.

    7

Purchase amusing beer steins, pilsner glasses or colorful plastic beverage glasses and nonbreakable eclectic plates and silverware. Keeping a refrigerator stocked with everyone's favorite beverages and snacks enables the party to continue without disturbing others in the home.

    8

Set a small card table in one corner of the room or provide bar stools around an island or small kitchen area. This is an excellent place to enjoy snacks and play games.
